Class V students of MISO visited Dar Al Atta a charity organization based in Muscat to extend a helping hand for distribution of books and stationeries to the students of the government schools in Oman. This was organized to observe WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY which falls on 19-08-2013.In 2003 on the same day 22 aid workers were killed in a bombing at the UN headquarters in Baghdad. It’s a day to commemorate all people who have lost their lives in humanitarian services and to celebrate the spirit of people helping person that motivates this work. The students were accompanied by Mr. Antonian our Computer Science teacher, Mr. Gireesh our music teacher and Miss Leena Menon our Vice Principal.
A click away- The world photography day was celebrated in school by our very own little photographers of grades III and IV. Accompanied by their guide, Art teacher Mr.Prasoon Sarkar and equipped with their cameras the shutterbugs of tomorrow went for a photographer’s day out on the picturesque Azaiba beach. The basics of photography like the composition, background, symmetry, colour, focus and subject were shared and the student photographers enthusiastically clicked away.
The Principal welcomed all Teachers and students and announced the theme of the week “Growing together” followed by a power point presentation on it. A silent prayer was held in memory of Mrs. Siddiqah Fathima our social sciences teacher who passed away recently. This was followed by News reading, Mathematical riddle of the day, Bhavan’s pledge, song by Christopher Ryan of KG -I and birthday wishes. The assembly concluded with some fabulous music played by Mr. Antonion on key board and Mr. Gireesh on the drums.
